What is in a Name?

I just read an article about a woman who said she would never date a man with the same name as her ex.  The article didn't say what relationship her ex was, but it could be a boyfriend or an ex-husband.  But some names she said were a real turn-off for her.  Until she met a man who changed her mind.  Actually I never gave it much thought myself.    But some names at their very mention have a real negative feeling for most people if a name has a negative connotation.

I feel the same way about certain pipes.  Dr. Grabow pipes, for example, is a name I always associated with cheap pipes thinking most who smoke Dr. Grabow pipes probably liked a cheap drug store tobacco to go with it.  But it wasn't too long ago that I suggested to Patty that I should own at least one Dr. Grabow pipe or a Yellow Bowl, or even a Kaywoodie or a Medico pipe.  She cringed at the thought of my buying a ten buck corn cob pipe just to say I own one.

I got two new pipes for Christmas and Patty gave me a $50 gift certificate from Smoking Pipes.  I thought about getting a 14 ounce tin of Carter Hall, just to say I smoked it.  And I thoight I could apply  the fifty towards another pipe.  But I decided to buy four tins of tobacco I have not smoked before.  One tin is from Warped, because they add cigar leaf to their tobaccos called Until The End.  Another is by Cornell and Diehl called Barbados Plantation which is a Rum infused Aromatic.  I thought I would try another by Cornell and Diehl just called Professor.  And another is called Morning Light.  I like it that I am a Bronze Tobacco Meister from Smoking Pipes and they put that I am a Bronze VIP Member at the top of their receipt.

The name on a tobacco matters to me.  But more than that is what is in a name.  I know all of Warped tobaccos contain some cigar leaf, hence the name Warped.  Cornell and Diehl has never disappointed me.  So, we will see how I did.  But I think I would rather begin trying new tobaccos than buying pipes.  I really have all the pipes I need.  Besides I'll the family buy pipes instead as gifts.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
