About Longevity

I'm listening to some Reggae music on Spotify this morning as I am writing this morning.  It is sunny here in SW Florida and seems like a good morning for this style of music.  I just read this morning that a US nun just died at the age 118.  She had been the longest living person in the US according to Guiness.  When asked about her longevity and how she lived so long, she said it was a glass of wine a day.  My wife said that a person who lived to be a hundred was asked how she lived so long, she said, "Live to be 99 and be very careful."  I laughed when she said this.  Longevity runs in both our families, but really everyone needs to take life one fay at a time.

We were discussing Methusala last night over dinner and although I can't recall his exact age, I think it was 969.  Some things in the Bible have no explanation.  And I am sure many religious people live to be quite old because their faith keeps down anxiety levels that otherwise puts pressure on their hearts.  My wife and I came home and we were stull talking about Methusala.  I told her again there is no explanation for many things written in the Bible.

I no longer try to explain things that no one understands.  I don't understand about Adam's first wife, Lilith.  There is no explanation for that.  Some things are best being left alone.  I don't understand how to explain disappearances in the Bible.  I claim to understand a lot, but I keep all that to myself.  I am sure that as a nun, this 118 year old woman understood much about life and living.

I read too this morning that an eight year old girl gave up a $67 million dollar diamond business inheritance to decide to become a nun.  I told my wife that as an eight year old she has insights into life that no one could explain.  Maybe that much money has no meaning to an eight year old.  But then most retirees would understand $67 million quite well.  It is all relative.  Some people just want enough.

Well, I am smoking my Boswell pipe this morning with the last of a tobacco my wife says she does not like. Right now I am on the patio smoking my pipe and she is indoors in a meeting, so I decided to smoke the last of my Until the End by Warped.  I kind of like the hint of cigar, but I have decided to smoke mostly Aromatics now.  I like a good English from time to time.  I have some Granger I have stored in a Mason jar since last January my wife bought for me, and I might get some of that out later.  I have some tobacco that was made in the early seventies I have in NY that I can either sell or smoke later. I will get that later in the year.

I like aging tobacco, because almost all tobaccos get better with age, as I think we all do.  Thank you for your time.  Peace and longevity to each one of you.

Dave
