Beginnings

I am smoking my Savinelli Churchwarden pipe this morning.  Even though it is morning and the temp right now is 73, I am smoking Sunset Rum.  I smoked my Boswell yesterday, but only a couple of bowls and thought about leaving it out here on the table over night but decided I would smoke a different pipe today.  We had a landscaping crew come yesterday to clear up some old brush and then we went out for the afternoon.  I didn't get a lot of pipe smoking accomplished yesterday.

But today the games are on so I might settle in to watch the championship games.  I told my wife last night that I have this really strange algorithm with YouTube.  I use a moniker as most people do and I get a lot of videos about the universe and astrophysics, which includes most anything related to the thinking of astrophysicist, including Einstein.  But the videos that fascinate me the most discuss the beginning of the universe.

Many people want to know the meaning of life.  Mark Twain says there are two happiest days of a person's life.  The day you were born and the day you understand why.  Some have said the meaning of life is discovered just the moment before death, but Twain doesn't say that, although it's what he was implying.  So, this gets back to the beginning.  How did all this begin and how will it all end?

There is one theory that fascinates me that says the big bang was an explosion of a black hole that is the center of it all.  This black hole has formed universes before.  At the end everything will go into this black hole, which, in time, will explode and begin a new universe as it ALWAYS has.  This universe has a beginning, but there have been an infinite number of universes before this one.  But we can only guess.  Life has meaning for the right now.  I let astrophysicist worry about the rest.

Thank you for your time and Prsce to all.

Dave
