Just Kidding Around
I took the photo above in Tulum, Mexico and is one of my favorite photos. I wasn't really serious about my saying we should eat Iguanas to curb their population. But then I got to thinking about it wondering if there are actual recipes for Iguana meat. Sure enough there are. They are referred to as Chicken of the Trees and in some Caribbean countries they are on the menu. I read their meat is tough so it needs to be cooked for some time, but their meat is often added to soups and gumbo. As for hunting Iguanas, maybe standing under a tree on a chilly morning will net you one as freezing temps causes them to fall out of trees. Iguanas are poisonous, but not to humans. But they do have sharp teeth and their bites can be quite painful, but not lite-threatening. According to some, Iguanas can make good pets.
I might not have been clear on my topic title yesterday as my wife asked me what I meant by avoidance. I want to avoid anything having to do with religion and politics. I might not have been too clear on that as I quickly got into the topic of Iguanas. But that is what I meant by avoidance.
I went onto the Pipe Smoking Forum yesterday for the first time and someone wondered what pipe and which tobacco one was going to smoke for Pipe Day. Someone posted a photo of a Peterson System pipe 307 just like mine. I thought that either a Peterson or a Savinelli might be good pipes for International Pipe Smoking Day, but I thought of any number of pipes I could smoke that day. But my Peterson might be a good choice. Either that or my Savinelli Author pipe. I'll decide Monday.
I don't want to continue writing about Escudo pipe tobacco but I have a bowl left. I wasn't as fond of the past couple of bowls as I was the first one right after opening the jar after being sealed for 30 years or more. It dried out a bit and simply was less flavorful than the first bowl. Maybe I just missed smoking a good English tobacco, but I have about a bowl left and I'll save it for Monday. I'm smoking my Czech made pipe this morning, Jirsa, with Cornell & Diehl Professor pipe tobacco. Maybe this tobacco will make me smarter.
Well, I wasn't really serious when I suggested that to control the Iguana population was to just eat them, but evidently they are quite good. I don't think so. Looking at the photo above I think most of you would agree. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
