Social Media and Pipe Smoking

 There are a lot of places on social media where pipe smokers can meet with the one notable being Facenook.  I signed up on TikTok, but don't ask me why.  If you look for me I go by the name of Howdy Doody.  He was a marionette puppet with a real person Cowboy Bob and Claribell the clown who was actually played by Bob Keeshan of Captain Kangaroo fame.  Well, I needed a name and even Howdy Doody is slightly before my time.  But it's the first thing that came to my mind for some silly reason.

I won't be on TikTok much at all, if any.  I've found TikTok to be for Geneation Z and Facebook belongs to Boomers, pretty much.  There are exceptions to both, but as a general rule.  I really have no business being on TikTok, but there I am without a clue as to how it works.  But I'll figure it out.  Maybe.

I am smoking my Tim West pipe this morning with a bowl of my Good Stuff mix with Lane BCA.  I like this blend so much that I might blend what is left with another Cavendish, like Cherry.  Borkam Riff has both a Cherry Cavendish and a Cherry Liqueur Cavandish that might be good to blend with my Good Stuff.  I really like this Good Stuff with Lane BCA.  

I finished the last of Taste of Temptation yesterday.  It was pretty good, but I like this Good Stuff blend better.  In my fifty years of smoking a pipe I have probably had or sampled some 500 or so tobacco blends of all kinds.  Some are still notable while some are just kind of whatever.  This Good Stuff blend with BCA is notable.  A Taste of Temptation is rather not so notable.  I will be building my list, but am thinking about some Cherry Cavendish to add to my Good Stuff.  So, I'll figure it out.  

As for anything else this morning, I just thought I would give a mention to a tobacco I smoked last evening before going in.  It was Sunset Rum.  That rates right up there with Autumn Evening and Tropical Export.  But I am always trying new tobaccos and will probably order something new as I have with every tobacco order.  I like to have on hand the stuff I like and then order an ounce and a half of something I never tried before.  I won't be ordering Taste of Temptation again, but I do like Cherry flavoring if it is not overpowering.  

I have my wish list on Smoking Pipes and add to it as I search for tobaccos I want to try.  Right now that list is empty but for two pipes.  So, I'll be working on it.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.

Strange

 I can never predict how any of my posts are going to be received but I do get a reaction from my wife quite often, but I'll post about my Spirituality thinking I've said enough and apart from a few other subjects my Spirituality posts do quite well.  I had yesterday's tobacco review done a few days ago and saved it for yesterday and again, it seems my tobacco reviews do quite well.  Then I wrote about my age and it seemed no one cared that much   My wife says that it's my titles for my subjects So, while I have so many subjects to choose from, today it is about how my tobacco choices influence my Spirituality or do they?  Not really.  It's just that I can't smoke my pipes without tobacco.  I could be smoking a lot of things.  Like the question asked when someone thinks you are crazy, " What have I been smoking?"  Well, at least you know.  It's never any "funny" stuff.  You could be asking what I've been drinking.  I have ...

Old Ads

 My wife liked my post about old things we remember.  And a lot of what I remembered was good.  But there was some bad things back then that are different today.  Back in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's advertising in both magazines and TV were incredibly sexist.  I don't have the space in one post to list all the ads, but really they can be summed by saying that a lot of advertising was incredibly sexist. I 've mentioned my wife lit my pipe for me just a few times, but these days she can barely tolerate the aroma of my most flavorful Aromatic tobacco.  She liked everything I said in that post except my mentioning Old Professor pipe tobacco.  Ironically, I like Old Professor the most and she hates it the most.  So, when I mentioned it, she did too.  But back in the day a man smoking a pipe was his lifestyle.  Today, it's a hobby, and not just for men.
