The World Changes
My wife and I were talking the other day about all the changes we have seen in our lifetime. The greatest change has to be the Internet that can be accessed on our smart phones. I said in my post yesterday to just Google the rest of the information. But it seems that Google isn't what it once was. There are reasons for it and the computer geeks of today are in search of the next big thing with some thinking the Internet as we know it needs to evolve. But the evolution of the Internet now belongs to Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
How many articles have you Googled that refer you to a social Internet site asking you to sign in to read the rest? I don't have any of these accounts and now when I Google something I get a lot of YouTube videos on the subject. I could find those videos in my searches in YouTube. The fact is that Google is losing ground to social media. But even social media is aging, but Google is no longer king of search engines. I am certain that as Xeeox has lost ground to copying, we will still be saying to "Google" it.
When we talk about changes, Tesla does not include AM radio dials in its cars. They say the electronics interfere with AM reception. Many car companies are doing away with the AM radio band. Some are wondering if AM radio is still relevant any longer. According to the FCC the AM radio band is still relevant to emergency broadcasts. But the question is whether AM radio is even relevant any longer. There are still die hard AM radio enthusiasts out there. AM might be hearing the death nells, but it is far from dead.
I am smoking my Tim West pipe this morning with my Rum and Maple tobacco. It is cool this morning with temps in the low 60's. It will warm up into the high 70's but will be warmer tomorrow and into next week. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
