I'm Fascinated

The James Webb Space Telescope fascinates me as it explores the edge of the known universe.  I'm fascinated by concepts of time travel.  I'm fascinated by the travels of Voyagers 1 & 2.  In fact, I watch as many YouTube videos as I can find on these topics and more.  I think with our current technologies, travel to any other planet besides our own moon would be suicide missions for anyone on a manned spacecraft.  But like Musk, I am fascinated by the possibilities.

I wrote about Musk and SpaceX the other day and decided I was too harsh on Musk and his dream of going to Mars and deleted that article.  But the James Webb is giving theoretical astrophysicists headaches, because what it has discovered wasn't expected.   The more you know, the more you don't know. Theoretical astrophysicists are now questioning whether Black Holes even exist.  But in addition to these discussions leaves questions about whether time travel is a thing or whether it is possible.

James Webb is causing astrophysics to rewrite cosmic history and to rethink every theory about the universe ever proposed including Hawking and Einstein.  I am fascinated by these videos, because it seems whatever James Webb discovers is now rewriting books and theories.  It's not like we are saying we told you so, but for some of us, we aren't as surprised as the astrophysicists seem to be.  It seems the universe has order and structure even beyond what is now visible to us.

But while I didn't doubt the existence of Black Holes, it seems their existence is in doubt.  As to whether James Webb has more surprises is yet to be discovered.  There are six galaxies that are on the edge of the visible universe that have form and structure much like our own Milky Way.  A question of how this can be has no answer.

I'm fascinated at these new discoveries.  I'm fascinated that theoretical asyrophysics has to be rewritten.  But there are no new theories, just that the old ones have been revisited.  But this is the way it is when new technologies make new discoveries.

I have made a new discovery with Gambler Red tobacco I have had stored in a Mason jar for almost a year and a half.  Yesterday I decided to open my jar of Gambler Red.  Gambler is similar to Good Stuff as it is basically a Virginia/Burley blend.  My wife picked up a bag at the local CVS which is all they had.  I remember Gambler being a lot like Good Stuff and I remembered it was pretty good.

A lot of blends have a Virginia/Burley mix that make them similar in taste and characteristics.  The Good Stuff blend had a hint of mint, which Gambler Red does not.  Most any tobacco will get better with age.  Gambler Red is no exemption.  After a year and a half this tobacco is really quite good.  It lights easily, doesn't burn hot and I notice no bite.  A very pleasant surprise indeed.

Those are my thoughts for today aa I smoke my Olive Wood pipe with a bowl of Gambler Red.  And as always, I thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
