Sometimes...
The pipe above is an estate pipe that has been smoked and is hand carved by Anne Julie. It is a Rhodesian pipe selling for $3,000 from Smoking Pipes made in 2017. It has nothing to do with my post below, but I found it to be interesting.
When I write a post for this blog, sometimes I might comment on some news item or a pipe, but sometimes I'll write about what is on my mind. Your first impression might be that my mind is blank. No, I'm always lost in thought about something. My wife and I THINK we'll be moving to a furnished condo at the end of this month. We are thinking aboit what we might need, but all we really need is some personal stuff.
We might go in with our son on the purchase of a condo, but we'll see. We have a seven month lease for a place that's just a few miles from his house, then we will decide what we want to do. But that is on my mind this morning. We're keeping his home as our address. It's not a done deal as of yet, but no reason why it won't be. It is a no smoking community, but I can smoke my pipe on the lanai that is there.
My point being is that we aren't totally settled here in Florida, but we are getting there. Seven months will give us time and will give our son more privacy. The Internet is included and the owner will pay the cost for that. The canal is right off from the balcony and the owner said I can sit there and smoke my pipe and watch dolphins and manatees as the boats go by. Once seeing the place in person, we didn't need much time to think about it. Our son found it on the Internet on Wednesday and we saw it the next day and dropped off our application on Friday. So, we're just waiting for approval.
There is a heated pool and a grill on the premises and further, she said we'd fit right in with the other residents in the complex. I might prefer a few younger neighbors, but no place is just THE perfect place. But it just felt right. The wood floors were new and the previous owner left behind a leather sectional that had to cost a pretty penny. It just seemed perfect to us and there is no reason for us to be turned down.
But still, we wait. So, we're excited about it, but it is only short-term. However, our son gets his privacy back and it gives us time to look for something more permanent. Well' it's something occupying my mind this morning as I smoke my Peterson System pipe with some Old Professor with a container of Autumn Evening close by. I'm looking forward to a new place even if just for the short-term, but it buys us some time. We got about an inch of much needed rain over night. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
