Are We Alone?

The entire known universe is about 93 billion light years across.  Some estimates say that are as many as a trillion planets capable of sustaining life.  Some say aliens are among us while others suggest our planet is the only one that can sustain intelligent life form.  This is where a belief system matters, simply because while there is evidence, the fact is that there is room for educated uncertainty.  Aliens fall into the same categories as Bigfoot and ghosts.

Are aliens among us?  Facts seem to border more on belief than what may be real.  But for the skeptics there is as much room for unbelief as there is for belief.  Even with a trillion possibilities, it might be wise to just wait and see.  But I'm a firm believer in the paranormal of all things.  Yes, perhaps we can explain most anything that can't be explained, but there is enough evidence to suggest that not all things can be explained.

And that is the crux of the issue.  Not everything can be explained.  There is enough evidence that cannot be explained that open the doors to belief.  Roswell has captured the imaginations of enthusiasts since 1947.  And the hype has not let up.  Some categorize believers in aliens with flat earthers.  But unless I have a reason to fear, I won't fear what I do not know.  Is Roswell full of monetary hype, or is there something to it?

Sometimes theories get in the way of reality.  And perhaps it might be best to at least have an open mind, but not so when theories become reality.  If we always are thinking the possibility of aliens exist, that opens the door to most anything.  But if we say it is impossible aliens exist then we are closed to a possibility.  The fact is, one could say they do, and one can say they don't and both be right, because not all explanations are logical.

Some might say aliens can't do this or that.  Some might say aliens can do anything.  Maybe they can travel hundreds times the speed ot light.  Maybe they can cross galaxies in days.  We just don't know.  Maybe they do appear as snake people or like reptiles.  There are those who believe.  But I liken belief in aliens to any belief that does no harm, but mass hysteria isn't productive either.  There is no harm in a flat earther believing the earth is flat.

Believing in the unexplainable does no harm.  But if one loses sleep because of fear or becomes counter productive because of fear, that is not good.  It is healthy to fear what we don't understand.  That is a fight or flight response to the unknown.  I believe in aliens, but I don't stay awake at night worrying about them.  But at the same time I can accept we just might be alone.  While both can't be true, I'm a believer in what can't be explained as a parallel universe is an explanation.  But is that THE explanation?  I'm thinking anything is possible.  But belief and truth just might be two different things, but often we don't know what we don't know.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.

Dave
