Did He?
I really don't care about most any sin but murder and suicide. That is all I need to say. I am fascinated by the death of Elvis. There are those close to him, that while he may have died from a coronary, say he purposely caused it to happen. Did he? His stepmother who is 84, and would have been much younger than he was, says his death was a suicide.
It seems some whistleblowers were getting ready to publish books that didn't put him in a very favorable light. In fact, she says, he feared it would be revealed he slept with underage girls, as he liked younger girls. He feared if that information got out his career would be over. And he feared the Feds would come after him and his career would be over. He feared people would judge him and there was the possibility of prison time. She said when he went in the bathroom that August morning of 1977, his intention was to not come out.
There was evidence of drugs in his body. But the official cause of death was cardiac arrest. She believes he purposely caused his own death. She has enough evidence and information to back up her claim.
Where does this leave us today? Conspiracy theorists have their own ideas about how famous people have died, including John Lenon and George Harrison of Beatles fame. And then there is Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and so many others. The list of rockers is a mile long. Many were ruled suicides by drugs. Fame is fickle, as peoples judgments are just as fickle.
We live in a cancel culture where one slip of the tongue can get one canceled. John Collins recently said that Hollywood parties have become dull because people fear saying anything due to cancel culture. But there are those who survived cancel culture like Justin Beiber and Mikey Cyrus. Regardless of all they have said and done who were never canceled.
But Elvis was different. Some have said his religious beliefs would have prevented him from taking his own life. But we know that fame, or the lack of it, kills. I might save my judgment of Elvis for later, but it seems to me that his death being suicide is plausible.
As for me this Friday morning, I am on our lanai being quite happy smoking my Lee Van Cleef Meerschaum pipe with some Autumn Evening. I will smoke a bowl of Old Professor later this morning. I've ordered some Tropical Export; some Early Morning Pipe; and a tobacco I've been wanting to try, some Cult Blood Red Moon. The latter is supposed to be the best of all Aromatics. I won't worry about Elvis today nor most any other day. I thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
