 Where would I rather be?  A lot of snowbirds leave Florida for the summer, because summers in Florida are like a tropical jungle.  I have been to a tropical jungle when it was 96 degrees F and the humidity was close to 100%.  It is consistently in the low 90's here for the past couple of weeks. But the question is whether I'd rather be here or in the 80's with less humidity up north.  Frankly, I'm getting used to the heat and humidity here.  

We don't own two homes, one up north and one in Florida, but my wife asked me if I'd rather live here or up north.  I told her in the winter we have heat, but I hate bundling up for the cold.  I would rather wear tropical shirts with shorts and sandals most of the time.  It is raining as I am writing this post on the first day of Summer and my phone says it is 85 degrees F, but will get up to 91 later on this afternoon.  

We have yet to go into the pool at our complex here, but I have been down there to smoke my pipe.  It has been rainy this month with a lot of heat and humidity.  But still, do we like it here?  I told my wife I like the palm trees.  I know we ARE in Florida.  We have a palm tree right in front of our lanai here.  I like the boulevards that are often lined with palm trees.  No, there aren't Buckeye trees down here and I am learning to identify various foliage down here.

And no, there are no deer here.  There are rabbits and snakes.  Yes, and alligators.  Cape Coral is known for the Burrowing Owls that hoot making their presence known.  But the fact is that during the hot summer months, most people are indoors.  While the heat has inconvenience us, we've   made the most of it spent indoors.  

I've decided to smoke my pipe less so as to not disturb what few neighbors we have.  I am on the lanaithis early afternoon smoking my Sheerock Holmes pipe with Autumn Evening.  My wife says I seem more relaxed and meditative if I smoke my pioes than if I don't.  The fact is that after I smoke a few bowls, the effect of my pipes stays with me.  If I don't smoke my pioe after a few days, I feel more stressed and tense.  She can sense that.  

If I can smoke my pioe year round that seems to be better than if I have to miss a period of time due to the cold.  Florida is more conducive to smoking a pipe than other places in the north.  Yes, I sweat a lot sitting on the lanai smoking my pipe when the temps are in the low 90's.  But I'd rather sweat in Florida during the summer months than freeze in winter in NY.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
