Life's Big Questiion
I have been seeing a lot of YouTube videos promising health, love, healing, and prosperity if I just watch. But these videos don't answer the biggest question of all. I have quoted Mark Twain on numerous occasions who once said he was born to smoke a pipe. Some people say they were born for a variety of reasons. But the meaning of life is whatever you want it to be.
I can only answer this question from my own perspective. At least one person suggested I smoke something in my pipe other than tobacco. I might have a mote spiritual experience if I smoked Marijuana, for example. Maybe some might suggest I take a Sir Conan Doyle track and smoke opium instead. A pipe shop I frequented was broken into and at least a few pipes there were used for crack cocaine.
But in all honesty I've never had any substance other than tobacco, but that maybe Marijuana might open my mind to a deeper spiritual experience, but I don't know. I know my wife and family would prefer I smoke nothing but tobacco. My wife says my Cult Blood Red Moon isn't bad, but she likes my Tropical Export better, however, anything other than tobacco would not be appreciated.
However, I say the meaning to life is what one wishes it to be. I love to listen to the music I have grown up with. I find meaning in music I like. But too, I find meaning in both love and kindness to others. But regardless of one's age one's search for meaning is meaningful. Mark Twain says too that a person's meaning is found in two different days. The first being the day you were born and the second is the day you find out why.
Now I'm not saying Mark Twain has the answer to everything, because I don't agree with all he says. The end of life is the final step and some won't know the meaning until just a moment before the end. But maybe I could say some find out sooner than others, but everyone knows at some point or another. I believe this is true. Most every survivor of a suicide attempt has regret for having tried taking their life.
Maybe for most the meaning of life is found in simply living. What we do each day of our lives is our choice to make. Sure, my pipes give meaning to life, but so does love and famiy. Each person has their own reason to live. We choose then to live to the end. This is the greatest meaning of all. This morning I am away from our place not smoking my pipe, but I'll get to it this afternoon. There is more to life than my smoking my pipe. Maybe I was born to smoke a pipe and a whole lot more. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
