Okay, Boomer!

I'm a Boomer.  I cant help that i am a Boomer.  I'm ight smack dab in the middle of all Boomers.  Except for this blog, I'm done with social media and my texting skills aren't so great.  I find myself looking up the meaning of so many three letter acronyms.  The other day I had look up what an OP was.  By the way, it means Original Poster, which I am never one.  I don't understand all these acronyms, but I try.  I signed into a pipe smoking forum and they gave me a dictionary to decipher all these different acronyms.

I want to add various doo-dads to my posts but don't out of fear I'll get them wrong.  But at least I try.  I drive a car old people drive, but I know how fast it is from 0-60, and for an old person's car it's pretty darn quick.  And I'm an old guy who smokes a pipe.  I could write a lot about smoking pipes.  In fact, I could do nothing but tobacco reviews.  However...  I find life too fascinating to focus on just one topic.

But I am a Boomer.  I am sure I have said or done something to cause at least one person to say, "Okay Boomer!"  But I have every right to think the way I do, and a GenZ person has a right to think the way they do.  I can't help that I am almost 72 years young, just as those who are younger have a right to think the way they do.  Plus, there just aren't too many theolgian/philosophers that see life through that lens.

I saw a T-shirt this morning in a T-shirt ad that said, "I'd rather be like God and be judged by the world than be like the world and be judged by God."  I thought to myself whoever wrote that slogan was spot on.  Because all my life I have never worried what God thought of me.  And I still don't.  The world judges in ways that in my thinking God does not.  And if you don't believe in God that is your thing and in my thinking God doesn't really need anyone to believe in Him.

Maybe that is a Boomer thing about God, because I have known the strictest Christians and Atheists alike.  Because as I have said God doesn't care as long as one respects human life.  This is all that matters to me and that is all that matters to God, in my thinking.  Maybe such thinking is a Boomer thing.  Maybe not.  Otherwise, I could go nuts worrying about souls.  For the most part, I don't.

Boomers tend to be more conservative as they grow older, but I have gone the other way.  It gives me less to worry about.  Sure, I AM a Boomer.  But in my case, I just don't worry about death and dying.  I can't help that I am a Boomer and think the way I do.  I see the world as I see individuals.  But as an old hippie, who is still very much a hippie, I believe more in Peace, love, and harmony.

I do my part by by smoking my pipe, as I am smoking my Boswell pipe this morning with a bowl of Early Morning Pipe along with a hot cup of coffee, and lead a quiet life.  Maybe that is a Boomer thing.  But if I act like a Boomer, say things like a Boomer, dress like a Boomer with my T-shirts and Tropical shirts and my caps, and think like a Boomer, it's because I AM a Boomer.  In MY thinking God could care less.   I'm a firm believer in Karma and my Karma is okay.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.

Dave
