The Best in Life Takes Patience
Tom Hanks niece now says she wants more camera time. Yes, extroverts need exposure. But my thinking is that when we force something to happen we fail. If we have something to offer the world, we simply need patience. It seems that with today's instant celebrity status, those who try and fail are jealous of those who have made it.
I say to those who are trying, to have patience, and just maybe not try too hard. If it is to happen, it will. And sometimes it takes years, and not months, weeks, or days. And many times it takes time to build the relationships needed for success.
I say to those who are waiting to relax, do what you do best, and wait. So, what do you do while waiting? Sometimes absolutely nothing. And it is that period of time that is most stressful. But too often we start to guess as to whatt others are doing on our behalf. Many times we just don't know. At least for myself, this is where good music, a pipe, and a good cup of coffee becomes most important.
People are needed to work on your behalf as a team. But a lot depends on your product. Ate you marketable? Is what you have marketable? And if it is, it WILL happen. But I've learned that forcing oneself on to others is NOT the answer. No one likes a bully. Sometimes one needs to change direction or think smaller, but still dream big.
Life is funny and the public is fickle. But stressing about life is NOT the answer. Talking to the press in the case of Tom Hanks niece is not the answer. Some might think she thinks she's entitled just by who she is. Sure, entitlement has its priviledge. But most successful people have had a lot of down time before they were successful. It simply takes perseverance to not give up on one's dreams.
Often it takes a cup of coffee, and a Savinelli St. Nicholas pipe (I smoke this pipe year round because it is such an enjoyable pioe), with some Autumn Evening, perhaps a sunny lanai, and relaxation to not stress about life. The most important commodity to have is patience. That seems to be in shortest supply these days. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
