Life on a Cruise Ship

One of the things our technological age has done is give people the freedom to work from most anywhere in the world.  All one needs is a computer with Internet access and a cell phone.  There are some rather enterprising individuals that call a cruise ship home.  They wonder why they should pay monthly rent when for about the same amount they get free meals, drinks, access to a gym, and Wi-Fi access anywhere on a ship.  All for the same monthly rent they'd be paying most anywhere.

And if a cruise ship isn't your thing, our technological age has allowed people to live most anywhere of their choice.  Some have bought RVs that allows them to travel most anywhere in the continental US.  And if traveling isn't your thing, buying a tiny home is affordable most anywhere one chooses to live.  The options are limitless for those who work from home.

Some companies like Amazon are now saying those people who have been working from home have to come in the office at least a few days a week.  This will force some to either quit their jobs or return to a more normal lifestyle.  So, doing the unconventional may force some to forgo their unconventionality and return to a more normal lifestyle.  So before one ventures off to see the world some future planning needs to be taken into account.

Google has said it's at-home workers are going to be asked to come in to the offices, or risk losing their jobs.  So, before one goes off the grid or seeks to travel the world, one first needs to be sure their jobs are secure.  And before one embarks on a permanent vacation on a cruise ship, one needs to take into account all the extras and tipping.  That brochure looks enticing unless you read what in not included in your fare.

I myself might spend a lot of time in the smokers' lounge or maybe that ten foot by ten foot area on the outside deck where smoking is permitted outside.  I don't know if life on a cruise ship really is that idyllic.  But I'm sure they have nice amenities and food available 24 hours a day.  I've heard of retirees living on cruise ships. But most of them are pretty wealthy and will rent the suites or the most expensive accommodations.

It just doesn't seem like a great idea to me to live on a cruise ship.  I've been on a few cruises, but making life on a cruise ship just doesn't appeal to me.  I'd rather sit on a lanai and smoke my pipe.  Today it is my Peterson System pipe with the last of my Captain Black Dark Cavendish.  I put my Eileen's Dream in a jar and smoked the last of Consummate Gentleman and Caribbean Blue Wyme.  I still have left some Captain Black Platinum and a lot of the Original Captain Black.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
