The Most Expensive

 The most expensive pipe tobacco sells for about $35 an ounce.  It is actually sold as a kilogram for £900.  I broke it down for the US monetary value.  It is Larson Hand Pressed pipe tobacco.  If I could find someone who had Balkan Sobranie it would be about $20 for a 1.75 ounce tin, but it is the most difficult tobacco to find.  Every Internet shop sells it, but no one ever has it in stock

The most expensive cigar in the world sells for $1.36 million.  But the ten most expensive cigars otherwise range from about $700 to around $60,000.  These are just ball park figures.  There is a company that sells a cigar for a grand, and for that price one is flown to Honduras and is given a factory tour.  There are perks given to those who buy a box of the most expensive cigars.  

But like a bottle of fine wine, once it is consumed, I guess one would have the cigar band as proof one had it, or the box they came in.  I wouldn't mind trying the most expensive pipe tobacco, but for me about $10-12 is the most I would spend on a cigar.  The most expensive cigar I've had retailed for about $30 in 1990.  

My son bought me a tin of East India Tobacco Co. Cellar Reserve that I found to be an excellent Aromatic.  I will try most anything, but the first thing every pipe smoker will do is open the tin or the package and smell the aroma of the tobacco.  It gives one preparation for what is to come. 

I am currently in the process of preparing my next order.  I had some Balkan Mixture by Sutliff on my list, but I might wait on that one.  I have about a half dozen tins of various tobaccos on my list.  I am thinking I'll put together my own tobacco sampler.  I have several that are similar to Balkan Sobranie, but are not the same as.  But I have quite a bit of Captain Black Original and Autumn Evening.  

I'll go over my list here when it comes time to place an order.  I gave a cursory review of cigar prices here, but it wouldn't be hard to find the list of the most expensive cigars.  I am smoking my Pierre Lamy pipe this morning with some Captain Black Platinum.  It has a bit more Cavendish with some extra Virginia tobacco.  I dont find much difference between it and the Original.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.

Strange

 I can never predict how any of my posts are going to be received but I do get a reaction from my wife quite often, but I'll post about my Spirituality thinking I've said enough and apart from a few other subjects my Spirituality posts do quite well.  I had yesterday's tobacco review done a few days ago and saved it for yesterday and again, it seems my tobacco reviews do quite well.  Then I wrote about my age and it seemed no one cared that much   My wife says that it's my titles for my subjects So, while I have so many subjects to choose from, today it is about how my tobacco choices influence my Spirituality or do they?  Not really.  It's just that I can't smoke my pipes without tobacco.  I could be smoking a lot of things.  Like the question asked when someone thinks you are crazy, " What have I been smoking?"  Well, at least you know.  It's never any "funny" stuff.  You could be asking what I've been drinking.  I have ...

Old Ads

 My wife liked my post about old things we remember.  And a lot of what I remembered was good.  But there was some bad things back then that are different today.  Back in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's advertising in both magazines and TV were incredibly sexist.  I don't have the space in one post to list all the ads, but really they can be summed by saying that a lot of advertising was incredibly sexist. I 've mentioned my wife lit my pipe for me just a few times, but these days she can barely tolerate the aroma of my most flavorful Aromatic tobacco.  She liked everything I said in that post except my mentioning Old Professor pipe tobacco.  Ironically, I like Old Professor the most and she hates it the most.  So, when I mentioned it, she did too.  But back in the day a man smoking a pipe was his lifestyle.  Today, it's a hobby, and not just for men.
