Moving Right Along
I am a firm believer in Divine Intervention in this world. This is why I can relax with a pipe. I am not going to take sides in any war. I simply do not believe in warfare. So, I would make for a lousy politician. In fact I take no sides in politics. I could say the same is true about religions, faiths, or beliefs. Some might suggest then that it gets pretty lonely for me in my own Ivory Tower. If you ain't where you're at, you are no place, aa Colonel Potter says in M*A*S*H. I view life from an Ivory Tower.
It ias been said of those of us who are middle of the roaders in most all things are the loneliest. Maybe. But we make that choice not to please others, but to simply please ourselves. Nothing much surprises us and nothing really makes us angry. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? It is neither good or bad. It is a conscious choice we make, the same as those who choose sides. We simply don't care which side you are on, because we don't see nationalities, political parties, or religions. We value people regardless.
We are observers and not participants, much like a referee in a sporting event. We cry foul on everyone, or we accept all regardless. I don't need to keep repeating this, but all I care about is Human Life, and I cry foul on anyone who violates this only rule. Otherwise, I'm not sure I care. As to how many believe as I do, doesn't matter, but I suspect our numbers are few. It seems most everyone is angry about something and maybe those like myself are considered pathetic and boring.
I see people as individuals and not groups or nationalities. We are the Peacemakers of this world. We can be a threat to either side in a war and trusted by no one. We could be considered as the most lonely of people, but yet that all depends. We can have friends on both sides of a conflict. We ARE different. We can be both prosectors and defenders. Yet remain friendly to those whom we prosecute. We see a kind of Supreme Justice in ALL things.
We are firm believers in Karma. I speak for no one in particular, but speak only for those as I claim to be, because in today's world we are rarer than rare. But it is this Supreme Justice that matters. One cannot be as I am without a belief in Supreme Justice. Some might say such beliefs make one poor, but I would argue it is just the opposite; we are the wealthiest of all. I'll use the plural for I believe I am not alone, yet because we are so few we may not know the others.
It is said a wise man picks his fights carefully, but the wisest picks no sides. The wisest does not speak, but listens. One can not learn when one's mouth is moving. We learn the most not by talking, but by listening. We learn the most by reading with quiet thinking. We are critical thinkers evaluating what we hear or read. The best Peacemakers make the best listeners. And our curiosity about the world makes us lifetime learners.
These are just a few thoughts I'd share this morning. Just something to think about. I do my best thinking with my phone in one hand and a pipe in the other. Today it is my System pipe with some Eileen's Dream. I thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
