There Might Be
There just might be some Dunhill pipes and accessories in my future. But right now the above Peterson Churchwarden Tankard pipe was in my wishlist on Smoking Pipes. They are having a Black Friday sale and I told my wife the above pipe can be an early Christmas gift. It was priced on sale for under $80. I told her this was a good time to buy this pipe. So, I ordered it with eight ounces of Sutliff Christmas Spice tobacco. This way I can enjoy the pipe and the Christmas tobacco through the holidays.
Really though, there isn't anything I want for Christmas that I don't already have. I just want to be with Family through the holidays. That is really all I want. This was just a good time to buy this pipe. And I hated to pass up a 15% discount on the pipe and 10% discount on the tobacco. The pipe just has a Christmas look to it. I saw this pipe and thought to myself that it looks like the kind of pipe Santa Claus would smoke.
The tobacco is one of the top sellers on Smoking Pipes with a half dozen reviews giving it four and half stars, with the most common comments being it smells like Christmas. I could write reviews on the Corn Cob Pipe with a Button Nose, but not much needs to said except the aroma is kind of like marshmallows and hot chocolate. The Christmas Spice is mostly cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel.
I didn't want to wait til Christmas to receive both as a gift, so my wife says it's an early Christmas gift I can enjoy through the season. As far as pricing is concerned one could say it's a relatively cheap pipe. No, it's not the Dunhill Estate Churchwarden pipe, but I don't care. First of all, it's made by Peterson and might be the cheapest pipe Peterson makes. But nothing is cheap about the quality and value of any Peterson pipe. The same care that went into this pipe is the same quality Peterson puts into every pipe they make.
If it's made by Peterson it's a great pipe no matter the cost. As for the tobacco I can only guess. I smoke mostly tobacco blended by either Cornell and Diehl or Sutliff. They might be less expensive tobaccos in bulk, but they blend just good tobacco that is never over priced. Once again I'm borrowing a photo by Smoking Pipes and I'll give them all the free advertising they want. I just really like this company. They spend a lot of time and effort in describing each and every product. The above pipe isn't like the one I'm getting. It's the actual pipe.
So, this is my post for this morning. Nothing fancy but a good pipe. This morning I decided to smoke my Nording Angel pipe with some Christmas Corn Cob Pipe tobacco. For me at least, as with most if not all of you, my favorite time of year is here. I can't wait for my Christmas Spice tobacco to arrive! And my new pipe! Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
