A Wee Bit Different

The pipe above is a Peterson Ststem pipe for celebrating Peterson's 125 year anniversary of pipe making.  Mark Twain once said that as far as he was concerned Peterson pipes were the best.  Mark Twain said a lot about pipes and smoking pipes.  Smoking Pipes has a large selection of Peterson pipes marking the 125 years of pipe making.  Peterson pipes have not changed much, if at all, since the days of Mark Twain.

The above pipe is a bit unusual from most Peterson pipes as it is called a sitter for good reason.  It has a flattened bottom to allow it to sit upright on a table.  The above pipe is called an Ebony as many of Peterson pipes are a rich almost black in color pipes.  The above pipe is numbered and is 90 out of 150 made.  Anyone who has the number 1 of this pipe series has a rare collector's edition pipe.

The price on Smoking Pipes is $190 with my 5% discount.  As for the pipe itself, it most likely will be smoked by the buyer unless one wants to keep as a collector,'s item, which many of these might become.  Any numbered pipe in a limited release could be collector's pipes and not be smoked, but at a price of around $200 some will be smoked on a regular basis.

Peterson is known to make series of collector's pipes, but Peterson pipes aren't so expensive one wouldn't smoke them.  They make a series based on Sherlock characters in Sir Arthur Conan Doyl's stories, Dr.Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde, as well as Dracula.  The pipes might have unusual stems like the red with black swirls of the Dracuka line of pipes.

Peterson is known for having classic shaped bowls as well as designs that are proprietary to Peterson.  The silver workmanship is known over the world to the pipe industry.  The silver band marks the history of the pipe maker from 1890-2023 and each pipe, as I said above is numbered with a serial number.  This pipe includes all the patents of the Peterson Pipe Company.

Nothing is left to chance including the choicest of Briar.  The style itself is Peterson's own style with other pipe makers often duplicating the design.  The above pipe is styled after the Dress pipe with the best stem and total form of the pipe.  I wasn't sure what to post today, but I thought the above pipe might be of interest to most of you, because it IS different.

We're traveling to the other coast of Florida today to visit with my sister and brother-in-law, but I began my day today smoking my Peterson System pipe with some Tropical Export, as I have now smoked the last of my Christmas Spice.  I wont be ordering more tobacco until after the holidays for obvious reasons.  I thank you for your time, and as always, Peace to each one of you.

Strange

 I can never predict how any of my posts are going to be received but I do get a reaction from my wife quite often, but I'll post about my Spirituality thinking I've said enough and apart from a few other subjects my Spirituality posts do quite well.  I had yesterday's tobacco review done a few days ago and saved it for yesterday and again, it seems my tobacco reviews do quite well.  Then I wrote about my age and it seemed no one cared that much   My wife says that it's my titles for my subjects So, while I have so many subjects to choose from, today it is about how my tobacco choices influence my Spirituality or do they?  Not really.  It's just that I can't smoke my pipes without tobacco.  I could be smoking a lot of things.  Like the question asked when someone thinks you are crazy, " What have I been smoking?"  Well, at least you know.  It's never any "funny" stuff.  You could be asking what I've been drinking.  I have ...

Old Ads

 My wife liked my post about old things we remember.  And a lot of what I remembered was good.  But there was some bad things back then that are different today.  Back in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's advertising in both magazines and TV were incredibly sexist.  I don't have the space in one post to list all the ads, but really they can be summed by saying that a lot of advertising was incredibly sexist. I 've mentioned my wife lit my pipe for me just a few times, but these days she can barely tolerate the aroma of my most flavorful Aromatic tobacco.  She liked everything I said in that post except my mentioning Old Professor pipe tobacco.  Ironically, I like Old Professor the most and she hates it the most.  So, when I mentioned it, she did too.  But back in the day a man smoking a pipe was his lifestyle.  Today, it's a hobby, and not just for men.
