We're Getting There
I could have a lot of stress today, but I'm too tired to be stressed. I didn't realize how much stuff we had in the condo. Stuff was taken there a little at a time, but the stuff was moved out in one day. We just have a few things to pick up and do to finish up. I didn't need the hassle we had as we are planning a short trip across state. I had a nail in a tire. Construction is everywhere down here and nails on roadways are a huge problem for car owners.
I wanted to repair a tire and instead bought a set of four with a road hazzard guarantee. The repair was on my to-do list, but not a set of four tires, but I had looked at tires this past summer thinking my tires probably needed replacement. The tires we bought were within the price range of the prices I saw. So, I'm satisfied with no complaints. But the fact is cars need tires.
I got a haircut the other day that now makes me look like a Florida man, as my wife now says. I'm adapting to Florida life, experiencing now what is our second Christmas Season in Florida. The other morning it was 54 degrees, which is a very chilly morning here in SW Florida. But it warmed up nicely although I dressed for the day in jeans and a sweatshirt. But I like that we don't have to bundle up to go outside in December.
We have no plans right now on finding a place of our own. There's still a lot that needs to be done at our son's house and us being here helps with those things. We just aren't in a hurry to move again. I'm getting old for all this moving and I'm content to stay put for a while. I miss the lanai at our condo where we were staying, but the weather is just as nice and sitting by the pool to smoke my pipe is just as nice as the canal.
I still like the idea of private pool parties and not worry about my pipe smoke drifting onto a neighbor's territory. I've enjoyed being at my son's house and we still spent some time here while living in the condo. The last few posts have been rather personal, as I've kind of moved around, but again, Christmas is about friends and famiky. I could say Christmas is about pipes and Christmas-y tobacco. Christmas is about lighting displays, music, and the enjoyment of the season.
Maybe Christmas brings out the old hippie in me with Love and Peace. The enduring aspect of Dickens' Christmas Carol is that Scooge keeps Christmas the year round. My Spirit Guide isn't just working at Christmas. I've learned Spirituality is a year round thing. They don't stop working at about noon on Christmas Day. Actually, that might be when they begin working their hardest. Enjoy the Season for what it is and like Scrooge keep it the year round. I am smoking my Peterson Sherlock Holmes pioe today with the very last of my Christmas Spice tobacco. Thank you your time and Peace to each one of you.
