A National Holiday?
I wasnt sure what I'd post this morning. I have several posts ready for today. But this post might be best for today. I wrote one about Spirituality, but I'll save that one for tomorrow as I'll work on that one today. I'll finish that one and post it tomorrow. I had another, but I might delete that one and we'll see how the Spirit guides me. Today is just a summary of the entire football season for this past year.
Some say the Super Bowl is a national Holiday, although it's always played on Sunday's. But now we have to live with two weeks of everyone talking about it, including myself, especially now that Taylor Swift is dating a star player. But word has it that she might not be there as she has a Tokyo concert that weekend. But she might find a way to get there before the game is over.
It's just that every year we get down to two teams that are the very best. The usual suspects are there again this year and I'm not sure I care to watch this year. The same two best will play this year as they have for the past five years. My football is now over for the year. I keep saying every year I won't watch college or pro football, but every year I gain interest in the sport as the season progresses. Yet every year it ends up with thusual suspects.
I don't know what it is about both college and the pros that suck me into watching, but I do. Part is the drama, but another part is the entertainment of it all. I say I won't watch the Super Bowl, but I still might. Many watch for the commercials and the half time entertainment. The Super Bowl has the world watching just to be entertained, which is what American Football is all about.
I'm not interested much in the half time entertainment, but advertisers go all out with entertaining commercials. The average 30 second ad for the Super Bowl this year is $7M same as 2023, but slightly higher than the $6.5M cost for 2022. Then there are the production costs for these commercials that some say are the most expensive part of their advertising budgets.
But advertisers say the cost is worth it with a viewership of some 100M TV's tuned into the game. And of course, the half time entertainment gets reviewed as much as the game itself. Everyone has an opinion about the half time show.
I'm still following college football, even though the season is over with coaching changes and the transfer portals. There is a lot going on in regard to college football as teams begin to position themselves for the top twelve spots for next season with the top two being usual suspects. Already the preseason college football rankings have been released for next season.
It's just that this year's Super Bowl has the usual suspects and very few are not surprised by who's playing this year. Maybe Super Bowl Sunday is already a national Holiday. It may as well be if it isn't already. But for me this year it just might be a game I'll skip, but I have to admit that the commercials are often better than the game itself. Today it my Angel pipe with my two Captains again. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
