My Tobacco Order

 I mentioned my tobacco order the other day and I received it Wednesday.  I can't say I have a lot of English tobacco left, but my wife likes the room note of Captain Black Original.  It has a kind of Vanilla room note that reminds many of us older pipe smokers of days gone by.  It has been the best selling pipe tobacco for decades.  It came out in 1956 and is now considered by most pipe tobacco smokers to be an old timers tobacco.

I have enjoyed a few old timers' blends, but today there simply is too much to choose from.  I thought I might try some Apricots and Cream as it too is one of Smoking Pipes top 100 tobaccos.  As I mentioned the other day, my first pouch of tobacco was an Apple flavored Aromatic, that I recall my wife liked at the time.  Back then I'd smoke my pipe in my car with my then wife beside me.

But those days are long gone now, and I have seldom smoked my pipe anywhere but on a patio or the deck of our house in NY.  But I'm thinking too that the aroma of an Apricots and Cream blend would have to smell very nice as a very good Aromatic. 

Captain Black Original is a top 50 best seller on Smoking Pipes and was not a mystery when I ordered it.  Apricots and Cream was a total mystery, but while I tried to count the various blends avaible on Smoking Pipes, there are literally thousands of blends to choose from with about half of those being Aromatis and the other half being English.

I've learned throughout the years that a good tobacco doesnt have to be expensive.  Many off the shelf tobaccos are actually very good.  The Apricots and Cream arrived the other day and someone once told me they like my tobacco reviews.  

There is not a whole lot to say about this tobacco.  I opened the bag and was met with a very flavorful aroma.  It's is  a very flavorful Aromatic and my wife says she can smell it just so very slightly in the house as I smoke it and that she likes the room note.  So, we both seem to like it and maybe that is all I really need to say about it.  It's just simply a very flavorful and enjoyable tobacco.  Today it is my Dunhill pipe with some Apricots and Cream tobacco and I thank you for your time.  Peace to each one of you.

Strange

 I can never predict how any of my posts are going to be received but I do get a reaction from my wife quite often, but I'll post about my Spirituality thinking I've said enough and apart from a few other subjects my Spirituality posts do quite well.  I had yesterday's tobacco review done a few days ago and saved it for yesterday and again, it seems my tobacco reviews do quite well.  Then I wrote about my age and it seemed no one cared that much   My wife says that it's my titles for my subjects So, while I have so many subjects to choose from, today it is about how my tobacco choices influence my Spirituality or do they?  Not really.  It's just that I can't smoke my pipes without tobacco.  I could be smoking a lot of things.  Like the question asked when someone thinks you are crazy, " What have I been smoking?"  Well, at least you know.  It's never any "funny" stuff.  You could be asking what I've been drinking.  I have ...

Old Ads

 My wife liked my post about old things we remember.  And a lot of what I remembered was good.  But there was some bad things back then that are different today.  Back in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's advertising in both magazines and TV were incredibly sexist.  I don't have the space in one post to list all the ads, but really they can be summed by saying that a lot of advertising was incredibly sexist. I 've mentioned my wife lit my pipe for me just a few times, but these days she can barely tolerate the aroma of my most flavorful Aromatic tobacco.  She liked everything I said in that post except my mentioning Old Professor pipe tobacco.  Ironically, I like Old Professor the most and she hates it the most.  So, when I mentioned it, she did too.  But back in the day a man smoking a pipe was his lifestyle.  Today, it's a hobby, and not just for men.
