A Few
I belong to a few pipe smoking forums, but I don't go to them very often. I belonged to a pipe club years ago, but no longer do I belong to one. I have a profile on Smoking Pipes if anyone bothered to look me up, but I don't believe anyone has. I'm pretty anonymous on the Internet. But you know, I don't care. I was smoking my Nording Angel pipe the other day and asked Google about smoking a Harmony pipe by Nording. It's a wrapped pipe with a design on the special wrap pattened by Nording.
My Angel pipe is a wrapped pipe with a design on the outside. I wondered whether a Harmony pipe by Nording should be smoked. The advice given was that Nording makes fine pipes in all grades and there was no reason not to smoke it. I had my Angel pipe for a year that I put on for display only and didn't smoke it all that time. One day I decided to smoke it and am glad I did.
The advice given was spot on. If it's a Nording and it's a good pipe regardless. So, now I smoke it about one day a week with no regrets. And the advice given about a Harmony pipe was spot on. It's meant to be smoked. So, after reading a few comments about it, I decided I did the right thing to smoke it.
I could learn more from pipe clubs and forums, but I'm just not into all that. I'm too private of a person to get into discussions about pipe smoking, etc. I'll visit the forums from time to time, but I just don't spend much time there. I enjoy my meditation time more and while I read headlines I'd rather spend my time in quiet meditation. Other than reading about tobacco choices, I might have a lot to offer to newer pipe smokers. But really, I don't care much for interaction with others, unless someone wants to join me as I smoke a pipe or smoke with me.
I like quiet conversation with most anyone. I've thooight that there were at least a few pipe smokers who were obnoxious when I first began smoking a pipe, but then I never found any. Pipe Smokers tend to be quiet thinkers. They'll share their thoughts, but never obnoxiously. I've found cigar smokers to be quite similar. But as cigars seem to stand out from the crowd, it seems cigar smokers like to stand out too. Maybe they have more money to burn as cigars are generally more costly.
I've learned that if one wants just a quiet conversation, sit down with a pipe smoker. He just might ask you as to what's on your mind. Today it is my Peterson Churchwarden pipe with some Captain Back Cherry having begun with a bowl of Morley's Best English with a cup of hot black coffee. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
