We Never Know
This blog is far from making any money. But I spend two to three hours a day on it. Why? One it keeps me busy; and two, I'm not thinking about other things. My mornings are spent on this blog and come afternoon, I'm doing other things. I'd like to write about some Karen or about a Florida man, but lately the news has been too political for my tastes.
Throughout the day, I'm reading the news. I just don't want this blog to be political commentary. It could very easily be. Everything is political these days. I'm actually tired of political news. I like that which is unusual or different. But it is what it is. I read of a lawyer who was killed by his own gun when he took his pistol, which was registered, into an MRI room. The magnetic force of the MRI machine caused his gun to discharge and he was killed instantly.
The lesson here is to not take any metal objects into an MRI room. The magnetism of an MRI affects any metal objects around it. Some might laugh and say he was just a lawyer. No loss there. But now they're saying that warnings must be posted in MRI rooms about ANY metal objects.
My wife and I will be celebrating 49 years together in a couope of days. I don't have any advice on how to make a marriage last except that we were both determined. Maybe that is the key to life. Just a simple determination. And my thinking is she was more determined than maybe I have been. But still it was there for me too. But I wouldn't make our marriage some kind of an example for anyone. We simply stayed together regardless. And that is what it takes.
But I would say this is true for anything we do in life. Anything we do takes determination. The will to live often is simply being determined to live. We take one day at a time. That is ALL we can do. And we make the most of each day. Anything we do we think is worthwhile, we do it one day at a time. We are unable to plan our lives to the end, because we just don't know when that will be. So, we live each day as it comes.
That is the advice I have for each and every day. It might come from Alcoholics Anonymous, because this is the basis of their philosophy. Just one day at a time. I think that really is what life is all about. We make the most of today, because it is all we have. Yesterday is history. We can't change the past. But what we do today can influence tomorrow when it comes.
We never know what tomorrow brings. I got through one day at a time. I'll make the most of tomorrow when it comes. Just as I will today. I am beginning today with this post as I am smoking my Tim West pipe with a bowl of Morley's Best English tobacco. I always keep my little marble Angel close. She reminds me of why I live. I thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
