It's Sunday Morning
At first when I stopped going to church on Sunday's I missed it. But those days of missing church are long gone. My wife and I have one Playlist on Spotify we listen to every Sunday morning. It is called Sunday Morning Coffee put together by Chip Davis and Manheim Steamroller. It's a Playlist suitable for anytime that is relaxing, but for some reason we just got into the habit of listening to it on Sunday mornings.
I think Sunday mornings are the best. Long ago, I felt I had to perform on Sunday mornings and before then it was church every Sunday. But those days are long gone. I can wake up on Sunday mornings, make my coffee, and simply relax. I often wonder if retired pastors still go to church if they don't have to any longer. My father was still pastoring almost until his passing.
But I simply don't miss going to church. Once I learned what salvation was, I just felt it was redundant. I tried once and learned that I can't. My wife misses the socialization a church offers, but I don't. She's found other ways to make up for it. I might need more socialization, but in a nutshell, I just don't want it. I got burned out on people long ago. In fact, being the son of a minister was the beginning. Being a pastor pretty much ended it.
Now however it is very different. Some people play golf on Sunday's or go fishing, but on Sunday mornings my wife and I both just take it easy. If there are chores to be done they can wait. I'm not sure why Sunday's are the most relaxing, but there are no expectations on Sunday's. It seems there is nothing that has to be done on Sunday mornings. It's the only day of the week we both feel this way. It just seems that Sunday morning is THE most relaxing time of the week.
I have enjoyed my Nording Angel pipe on Sunday mornings. I have made that the pipe I smoke on Sunday's. There is no reason for it, but maybe I feel more connected to the Divine on Sunday mornings. Whatever the reason, it just seems that Sunday mornings are the very best. So, it is my Angel pipe this morning with some Summer Night Aromatic pipe tobacco and a cup of hot black Guatamalan coffee. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
