Knowing Where Love Is

Okay, my son brought a cat home last week.  He was a barn cat for four years and didn't respond much to people while at the Cat Cafe.  My son went there possibly looking for a cat, but when he sat down this cat jumped into his lap.  So, of course he brought him home.  His name is Sir William Wallace, which I am sure is the only cat in the world with that name.  My son calls him Willy, but I simply call him "Sir."  My thinking is that if we brought him home to fifteen dogs, in a fay he'd own all of them.

My thinking is this male cat deserves to be called, "Sir."  In a week he owns this house and everything in it includeding four people and a dog.  But that's another story.  Last night my son took Sir outside for the first time carrying him in his arms.  The cat got startled and my son put him down on the ground and in a flash he took off.  We searched for about an hour finally thinking he'd come back.

So, we all came inside.  A little while later my son was meditating and said he began to telepathically communicating with the cat.  No sooner had he begun that the cat showed up at our doorstep.  There was Sir.  He came back.  Of course we all made a fuss over him, but I didn't think he'd been here long enough to know this was his home.  But he knew.  Why do I think he knew when I gave up on him so soon?  That is my point.  This cat knows what love is.

He wasn't about to give up my son.  And that is my point.  I told my wife anyone who knows what love is will respond to it.  This cat knows what love is.  This cat is no fool cat.  If we hadn't already fallen in love with him, we'd all gone to bed thinking we have the stuff for another cat.  But it seems Sir would have none of that.  Sir is a docile male cat who knows he's the boss.  He's incredibly easy to love.

I seem to write about love a lot, but it's in me to love and not hate.  It seems that hate takes up so much energy.  Even in hating ourselves.  Love is docile.  Love is kind.  And love just simply feels good.  This cat has scars.  The world does that to people and animals alike.  We're so much easily drawn to love as all creatures are.  Hate changes a person negatively.  But humans and animals alike are drawn to love.

Just a lesson about life and a cat this morning.  Nothing earth-shattering here.  I'm not writung something very profound because each one of you know what love is.  Well, it seems Sir does too.  I'm giving some love to my Peterson Churchwarden pipe this morning with some Captain Black Original while drinking a cup of hot Guatamalan black coffee.  Just a lesson from a very cool cat that knows what love is.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
