It's Like a Sauna
I live with the 30/80 rule. Due to my heart condition I can't do strenuous work if it's either under 30 degrees or over 80 degrees. This means I can't mow if it's hot and I can't shovel snow if it's cold. So, I've been limited in what I can do and as long as I live in a place where I don't have to do either, I'll be just fine. Even in exercising in a gym I have to be careful. I need exercise but too much of a good thing can do more harm than good. I can relax outside in temps of 90 or higher in high humidity, but this is about all I can do outside here in Florida.
But I've learned to live with my limitations. It can be like a sauna here in Florida and I still do things, but I have to be careful in how much I do. I am constantly aware of the fact another heart attack could end my life. There are times when I know I overdo it, but I always make sure I have plenty of water and never try to do too much. But the good news in all this is that while I have shortness of breath I have not had any chest pains, but I know if I take good care of myself, my Spirit Guides will do the rest.
I think my heart attack was the worst pain I have ever experienced. One woman I knew who had the same kind of heart attack said for her it was a worse pain that child birth. I'll never be able to make that comparison, but I can understand what she was saying. I've never experienced anything like it before or since. And if it happens again I simply won't live through it.
There is not the most perfect place I can live where the temps don't reach extremes either way. But I can relax when it's hot here in Florida and go in where there is air conditioning. So, I may live in the best of all possible places. Making sure I have access to plenty of cold water is a must.
Now there are those of you who might wonder about my smoking a pipe and my heart condition. I have said this before and I'll say it again. Smoking my pipe is a part of my meditation. It helps to lower my blood pressure. If it raised it, I'd give it up, but it does just the opposite. Scientifically speaking that doesn't seem possible, but for me it is, which is why I am not an evangelist for either pipes or cigars. I smoke only a few cigars a year. For me they are only a very special treat.
But my pipe is simply a part of how I spend my time relaxing. Stress is my worst enemy and it can kill me. If a pipe did not help reduce stress I might find something else. But a pipe for me works best. And this is why I smoke a pipe. Today it is my Savinelli Saint Nicholas pipe with some Old Professor pipe tobacco. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
