Maple Cavendish Review

 I had something else for this morning, but it might be more like a Sunday sermon, but sermonizing is the last thing I want to do.  So, I'm switching things up a bit today and decided on a tobacco review instead.  I wanted to order something for fall I've never had before.  I found the Nicotine in Autumn Evening to be a bit too much at times and wanted a replacement for it.  

Right now I have plenty of Old Professor I smoke from time to time and I ordered enough Lane 1-Q to blend and some left over to smoke by itself.  I now have a lot of my Special Blend and will always have plenty of that on hand.  But in my last order I wanted something different and I found it in Cornell and Diehl's Maple Cavendish.  It hit all the right notes as I read about it and read the reviews.  I have to say that fall in Florida doesn't arrive until late November, if you want to call it fall.

I can see myself sitting on the deck of our house in NY in late September smoking Maple Cavendish.  It is that good with just a hint of Maple.  Autumn Evening can be overwhelming although my wife likes the room note of Autumn Evening the best.  Maple Cavendish is mote subtle, but maybe this is why I like it.  There is no tongue bite, very little Nicotine, burns well in the pipe, and is a tobacco I can just sit back and enjoy without thinking about it.  

There might not be much difference between Maple Cavendish and Lane 1-Q except for the slight Maple flavor.  It's simply enjoyable without a strong Maple flavor or room note.  I could smoke it indoors without it being strong.  Just a pleasant Aromatic.  It's what a good Aromatic should be.  Just good.  It has enough toasted Virginia without being too sweet.  I once gave Autumn Evening five stars out of five, but Maple Cavendish gets about four and half out of five and I might drop Autumn Evening down to four for being too sweet.  

But the fact is I would have no reservations recommending Maple Cavendish to any pipe smoker who enjoys a mild Aromatic.  It might be a little too tame for most experienced smokers.  The Nicotine is light and the Maple flavor might be too subtle, but for me it hits all the right notes.  A hint of Maple is all one needs to know it's a fall tobacco.  So, this morning I am smoking it in my Nording Number 2 pipe while drinking a cup of Pablo's Pride Guatamalan coffee.  Fall doesn't get better than this.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
