A Christmas Theilogy
Other than sermonizers not a lot of people will want to talk about theology at Christmas, but I will. Jesus was born so He could die for every sin except for the sins of intentionally taking a human life including our own lives. This is the theology I inherited from my Angels. It is why He was born. My Angels gave me a Spring birthdate for Jesus’ birth, but every biblical researcher knows that although Jesus was likely born in the Spring no one is going to mess with December 25. That date is in the DNA of every believer.
Changing the date of Christmas is futile at best. But the theology of the meaning of Jesus’ life is not complicated nor is God that complicated. I know it’s Christmas and sometimes the meaning gets lost in presents and Santa Claus. But I’m remembering this morning as to why Jesus was born. This simple theology would be rejected by most anyone, but while I claim to have inherited it from Angels this is as good a time to write about it as any other time.
Some say Jesus never existed while others simply don’t believe in God. In this theology belief doesn’t matter as long as one respects ALL human life including one’s own. It’s such a simple theology and many might say it’s too simple. But this is the why Jesus was born. Just respect ALL human life. Whether one believes or not that is all there is to it. Life doesn’t get more simple than this. Any sin can lead to death, but no one achieves sinless perfectionism. Only Jesus did that. But it can be a goal. Death is just something not to be feared.
If we don’t fear death then we don’t fear life and living. Life is about growth. And everyone faces death. But only God allows for death on His terms—not ours. I realize most anyone won’t accept such a simplistic view of God and the reason for Jesus’ life and death. But if this were from me I’d change what is necessary. The meaning of Christmas is found in the life of Jesus. But this is my theology and I’m relaxed about it.
Otherwise I’m not so sure. But I relax with my pipe and meditate on what I claim my Angels told me. So, on this Christmas Day I am simply telling you what my Angels told me. Otherwise there is no way I’d be relaxed. So, I’ll just smoke my pipe and allow the Spirit to do His work. This morning my pipe is my Savinelli St. Nicholas pipe and my tobacco is Smooth English. My coffee this morning is Stumptown Homestead coffee. Thank you for your time. A very Mendy Christmas and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
