 Cornell and Diehl is a pipe tobacco company that has been around for 30 years..  I had Revelation in my shopping cart and decided on Constellation instead.  It is one of Cornell and Diehl’s oldest blends and is a top 100 best seller ion Smoking Pipes and might be close to a substitute for Old Professor.  According to reviews and a high rating it’s the first time since my first order of Old Professor that I’m excited about receiving.  It just might be what I am looking for in an English tobacco.  

Lane 1-q is an all round Aromatic similar to Captain Black Original with no chemicals for flavoring.  It’s similar but better.  But for an English I did some studying and when I came to Constellation, I thought maybe that will be the one English I am looking for.  An old blend that has been around for a long time.  The description is very short.  The tobaccos are similar.  But what impresses me most is that it is a very old blend.  Maybe top 100 best seller doesn’t say a lot, but only recently did Old Professor move up to that spot and now they can’t keep it in stock and might not be made any longer.  

If Constellation has been around for that long it must be good.  And it is a blend that is not going away.  I am as excited about trying it as I was Old Professor the first time I tried that one.  Maybe I am building myself up for a disappointment, but I don’t think so.  Longevity says a lot about a blend.  So, instead of a few ounces I’m ordering a half pound of it.  Maybe I’ll force myself to like it, but I don’t think so.  

Old Professor had the same anticipation and I was spot on with it.  Same with Constellation.  I did my research and came to this one.  I think it will be spot on.  But how do I know?  Gut feelings.  I had the same feeling about Old Professor.  I’m thinking Constellation will be spot on.  But why did it take three years to find it?  Basically, I wasn’t looking.  Same with Old Professor.  I really wasn’t looking.  But the first time I ordered it, I just knew.

It has the same tobaccos.  It won’t be exactly the same, but the tobaccos are there.  I have this feeling about it.  I’ll like it.  I know I will.  I wasn’t that impressed with Einstein’s blend, Revelation.  I didn’t have a lot of it, but if it impressed me I’d remember.  When I get excited about trying a tobacco I seem to know.  I haven’t been excited about an English for quite some time.

But after reading about Constellation and looking at reviews and seeing how old it is, somehow I knew.  This just might be the one.  I was just ordering tobacco before.  There is so much to choose from.  And I’ve tried so many that now I know what I’m looking for.  It is like looking for a needle in a haystack.  I’ll be surprised if it’s not as expected.  

So, I have to wait for it.  Until then I’ll enjoy my Irish Blessing with my Peterson Sherlock Holmes pipe.  My coffee this morning is from the Blue Bottle Coffee Company.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.

Strange

 I can never predict how any of my posts are going to be received but I do get a reaction from my wife quite often, but I'll post about my Spirituality thinking I've said enough and apart from a few other subjects my Spirituality posts do quite well.  I had yesterday's tobacco review done a few days ago and saved it for yesterday and again, it seems my tobacco reviews do quite well.  Then I wrote about my age and it seemed no one cared that much   My wife says that it's my titles for my subjects So, while I have so many subjects to choose from, today it is about how my tobacco choices influence my Spirituality or do they?  Not really.  It's just that I can't smoke my pipes without tobacco.  I could be smoking a lot of things.  Like the question asked when someone thinks you are crazy, " What have I been smoking?"  Well, at least you know.  It's never any "funny" stuff.  You could be asking what I've been drinking.  I have ...

Old Ads

 My wife liked my post about old things we remember.  And a lot of what I remembered was good.  But there was some bad things back then that are different today.  Back in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's advertising in both magazines and TV were incredibly sexist.  I don't have the space in one post to list all the ads, but really they can be summed by saying that a lot of advertising was incredibly sexist. I 've mentioned my wife lit my pipe for me just a few times, but these days she can barely tolerate the aroma of my most flavorful Aromatic tobacco.  She liked everything I said in that post except my mentioning Old Professor pipe tobacco.  Ironically, I like Old Professor the most and she hates it the most.  So, when I mentioned it, she did too.  But back in the day a man smoking a pipe was his lifestyle.  Today, it's a hobby, and not just for men.
