Lost in the Mail
The post office is a funny place. Letters have been found that were lost for years and eventually got delivered. But all we get is junk mail with the occasional bill or important documents, but so much of our mail is conducted by texts or email. I mention all this because I ordered some tobacco that got as far as Tampa. Then for some reason was re-routed to Trenton, NJ.
It’s now been re-routed back here to Florida. The tracking says I’ll get it today, but as of yet it hasn’t arrived to our distribution center. I might not get it until Monday or Tuesday. I guess my package got left in a truck. So, what do I do in the meantime? I went down to the local smoke shop and picked a package of Good Stuff Gold. It should last until my package arrives if it’s not re-routed to Idaho or something.
No one said the post office is perfect. I know when I order by mail, unless I pay extra for special handling it takes about a week. I could have purchased a can of Captain Black, but that is too expensive to buy lovally. I can order it for about $15 cheaper. But I like Good Stuff. I have almost all their blends and it is about $30 less than a can of Captain Black.
In three years this is the first time a package got re-routed. I can usually figure about four days but this one will be about eight if my math is right. I like the fact I can now track my packages. I remember as a kid I had to order rocketry stuff and it was hand delivered and had to be signed for. If Amazon sold tobacco I might be ordering from them.
The fact is I have tobacco. I’ll just wait and complaining to someone will get me nowhere. If it never arrives, I’ll just tell the company to ship me a new package. I might tell them if I don’t get it by Tuesday. But this morning it is my Peterson Irish Harp pipe with my Good Stuff Gold. My coffee this morning is Stumptown Homestead that was shipped by Amazon. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
Dave
