My Next Order

 I have some extra tobacco in my next order.  When it is time to place my order I have some extra tobacco that will not run out until after my next order.  Having a variety is best.  Some pipe smokers cellar a lot of tobacco.  I used to have a lot extra, but these days I smoke what I have and then place my order for the next month.  

But I’ve found I haven’t been ordering enough.  Once in a great while I have to order extra to tide me over.  It’s cheaper than going to a local shop and paying full price or more.  Tobacco and wine are my only vices and with limited finances on a limited income I have to be careful about how much I spend on either.

I used to drink only Cabernet wines, but I got kind of burned out on Cabernet.  These days I prefer softer reds and generally they are more plentiful and a bit less expensive.  But every once in a while I just want a good Cabernet.  I just am drinking less of it.  It’s the same with tobacco.  Once in a great while I’m willing to spend extra for just a couple of ounces of something.  But most of the time I buy in bulk.  

I have expensive tastes in both wine and tobaccos, but I find a good substitute can be just as good.  I’m just more frugal these days.  I wear mostly shorts and a T-shirt, but I have good clothing if I want to wear them when going out.  I have some expensive Cabernet on my wine rack, but I find I don’t need one.  Most of the time I don’t wear anything other than shorts and a T-shirt.  I even own a suit and a very expensive leather jacket.  I just don’t need them.

Einstein’s wife once said to him that he needed to wear something other than tattered sweatshirts.  He told her, “if they want to see my other clothes, I’ll show them my closet.”  I feel the same way.  These days I’m not out to impress anyone.  I don’t need expensive tobaccos.  If I can find what I like in bulk, I’ll buy it.  And I’m willing to buy more tobacco just for the free shipping.  It’s not often I do.  But if I need to order more than usual, I’ll order enough to pay for free shipping.  

Ordering more than $50 isn’t worth the free shipping.  But if I need more than this I’ll order enough so I don’t pay for shipping.  It just depends.  Now all I have to do is to convince my business manager I need that much.  Once in a great while I do. But I can always order what I need and wait. I don’t need an expensive Cabernet, but once in a while I do.   I probably don’t need a suit.  But if I do, I have one.  Today my pipe is my Dunhill.  I probably don’t need a Dunhill, but if anyone should  ask, I can say I have one.  My tobacco is Autumn Evening.  My coffee this morning is Bella Maria Organic coffee.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each of you.

Strange

 I can never predict how any of my posts are going to be received but I do get a reaction from my wife quite often, but I'll post about my Spirituality thinking I've said enough and apart from a few other subjects my Spirituality posts do quite well.  I had yesterday's tobacco review done a few days ago and saved it for yesterday and again, it seems my tobacco reviews do quite well.  Then I wrote about my age and it seemed no one cared that much   My wife says that it's my titles for my subjects So, while I have so many subjects to choose from, today it is about how my tobacco choices influence my Spirituality or do they?  Not really.  It's just that I can't smoke my pipes without tobacco.  I could be smoking a lot of things.  Like the question asked when someone thinks you are crazy, " What have I been smoking?"  Well, at least you know.  It's never any "funny" stuff.  You could be asking what I've been drinking.  I have ...

Old Ads

 My wife liked my post about old things we remember.  And a lot of what I remembered was good.  But there was some bad things back then that are different today.  Back in the 50's and 60's and even into the 70's advertising in both magazines and TV were incredibly sexist.  I don't have the space in one post to list all the ads, but really they can be summed by saying that a lot of advertising was incredibly sexist. I 've mentioned my wife lit my pipe for me just a few times, but these days she can barely tolerate the aroma of my most flavorful Aromatic tobacco.  She liked everything I said in that post except my mentioning Old Professor pipe tobacco.  Ironically, I like Old Professor the most and she hates it the most.  So, when I mentioned it, she did too.  But back in the day a man smoking a pipe was his lifestyle.  Today, it's a hobby, and not just for men.
