Simplicity is Best
God wants me to keep my life simple. Simplicity is best. I’ve had enough complications with people. Just a few friends and just posting on FB as little as possible. I need diversions but not a lot of distractions. In some ways in my later years I’ve worked hard to simplify my life. Any kind of religious interaction would cause too many complications for me.
Even my theology is simple. Getting into politics is too complicated for me. Everything can be political these days. I just don’t need it. I was once encouraged to get into politics, but I saw that path as full of all kinds of complications I didn’t need. Being born into the family of a minister and siblings that took that path was too complicated for me.
I’ve work hard for simplicity all my life. Now that I am there I don’t need complications. I just need simplicity with a few diversions. That suits me just fine. Money is made with complications and I just wasn’t motivated enough to have those complications. The stresses would have killed me one way or another.
I had my heart attack and that gave me a few days to think about everything. But it seems for God that wasn’t enough. I needed to face death once more and had a few weeks to think about things. Then I waited and God gave me something to do. And it seems now God always has something for me to do. I perform simple tasks and just move on.
I’m not sure what God has next for me, but it won’t be complicated. He’ll keep it simple because He knows I like simplicity. But I’ve resolved my complications and am ready for the next step. I’ll wait to see what He has next for me, but He’ll keep it simple because He knows this is what I need. Smoking a pipe is simple. Being alone a lot is simple. He’s given me time to just keep it simple.
Today it is my Peterson Sherlock Holmes pipe with the last of my Haunted Bookshop tobacco. My coffee this morning is Bella Maria Organic coffee. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
