Family Christmas
This morning is our family’s Christmas morning. Everyone is still sleeping as I write this and my wife is preparing breakfast. I’m calmly smoking my pipe with Sir William in his usual chair.
Today is the Winter Solstice—the shortest day of the year. We are far from pagans. But it’s just the way Christmas turned out this year. Back in the 1700’s Massachusetts outlawed any celebrations of Christmas saying it was a pagan festival. If there is a war on Christmas it was begun by the Puritans.
But I’ll relax this morning and wait for the family to wake up and have breakfast. I’m smoking my Nording Number 3 pipe and drink my coffee and stay out of my wife’s way as she prepares breakfast. Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
