About Proper English

I am not talking about English as language but a pipe tobacco by Peter Stokkebye.  I got a bit distracted by 3I/AtTLAS, but feel I need to move on from it.  I want to review a tobacco this morning.  There is nothing new about 3I/ATLAS I haven’t already said.  Meanwhile I relax by smoking a pipe and decided to do a tobacco review this morning.

Since the Old Professor has been retired by Sutliff I have been in search of a good English tobacco to replace Old Professor.  I’ve decided a good English should contain a blend of Virginia tobaccos with Orientals and a touch of Latakia.  I’ve found it in Proper English.  It is what a good English should be.  It doesn’t have the leathery notes of Old Professor, but it still comes close to what a tobacco blend should be.

Proper English is what the name implies.  It is simply a good bulk English blend.  I really enjoyed Quiet Nights by G. L. Pease, but I can’t afford the price of the tins.  Proper English in Bulk is almost half the price of a tin of Quiet Nights.  Another blend I like is Rattray’s Accountant Mixture.  Proper English might be a bit too tame for some who enjoy a good English.

I just find that for a bulk tobacco for those in a limited budget like myself to be simply a good English.  It might lack a bit in flavor for those who prefer a bold blend, but I find Proper English just simply a good English blend .  I am smoking it this morning in my Nording Number 2 pipe.  My coffee this morning is Comfort blend.  Thank you for your time and Peace and Love to each one of you.

Dave
