My Next Order

 I order pipe tobacco towards the end of the month.  I like to order something I’ve had along with something I haven’t had. I’m big on Peter Stokkebye’s Proper English and less so on Arango Balkan Supreme.  Any tobacco from the Balkans is a holy grail of tobacco.  But last month I ordered Balkan Supreme with Proper English and find I enjoy proper English a bit better.  

Balkan Supreme gets high reviews as it should, but I decided to try a blend I’ve never had before, which is Old College by Cornell and Diehl thinking it might be closer to Old Professor.  But Old College only gets a 3.1 star review with only eight reviews.  But it was the about the same with Old Professor.  In fact Old Professor wasn’t in the top 100 when I first ordered it.  Then it moved up to a top 100 best seller.  

Proper English is a top 100 seller on Smoking Pipes.  But Balkan Supreme is a top 10 best seller.  Old College isn’t in the list.  I might like Old College as I did Old Professor and it might go the way Old Professor did.  I fear liking an unranked tobacco with low ratings as often these blends are often discontinued to make way for new blends.  

But Sutliff who made Old Professor now focuses primarily on Aromatic pipe tobaccos.  Cornell and Diehl is a larger company that can afford to blend lesser rated tobaccos.  I’ll see how I compare Old College to Old Professor.  Proper English is a top 100 best seller.  We’ll see how Old College compares to both Balkan Supreme and Proper English.  

I’m not a fan of either Burley or Perique, but none of these have Perique.  But Burley is in Old College.  We just have to see how Old College fares in comparison.  This morning I am smoking my Nording Number 2 pipe with some Balkan Supreme.  My coffee is Stumptown Holler Mountain.  Thank you for your time and Peace and Love to each one of you.
