Quiet Sunday Mornings

I listen to Chip Davis Dayparts Sunday Morning Coffee every Sunday morning while I drink my coffee and smoke my pipe.  I am pretty relaxed this morning after getting the best night’s sleep I have had in quite some time.  I watch an old movie from 1965 last night and it was a B movie about a spy who could transfer himself from place to place.  His car was an AMC Javelin.

I loved the looks of that car when it first came out.  But it is a very expensive car to own these days with a lot of work having to be done just to maintain them.  I love to watch old movies just for the cars.  My favorite old show to watch these days is Columbo.  Peter Falk did a great hub portraying Columbo.

A lot of cars in Columbo are old classic expensive cars. I wouldn’t own a classic today as parts are getting more and more rare.  Very few mechanics today can work on old cars.  Mt brother own a 1963 XKE Jaguar, but he can work on it himself as a hobby but he’s finding parts hard to come by.

I love to see old tech back then and see what they thought future tech would look like in the future.  The first cell phones were modeled after the communicators from Star Trek.  It’s fascinating to see what the future looked like in old movies.  Many TV screens back then were CRT not the flat screens of today. Star Wars was probably the first scu-fi movie to get rid of wheels.

And in old movies they could travel faster than the speed of light.  I’m just fascinated by old TV shows and movies.  I don’t know many actors today.  I enjoy watching actors I know.  Mark Hanel was an unknown back then, but today he is known by a lot of his work.  It’s just fun to watch old movies.

I’m an old guy smoking my pipe this morning.  It’s my Nording Number 2 pipe with some Cornell and Diehl Old College pipe tobacco.  I’m just listening to music as I drink my morning coffee.  Thank you for your time and Peace and love to each one of you.

Dave
