Quiet Monday
Being retired maybe you think all days are the same to me. Actually, I get the Monday blahs like everyone else. But it has been a quiet Monday morning for me. I change my overnight T-shirt after I make the bed and I spray a body spray in my every morning. My wife got me an Old Spice brand for Christmas and as I was spraying it, I thought that I miss that Old Spice bottle ewith the clipper ship on the front. Sure it cost about ten bucks a bottle and it had an old man scent. But those of us who are old guys don’t need colognes costing $200 or more.
I have one of those and my wife says the scent is over powering. I have no need to smell like a GQ magazine. Why wear a $200 cologne when my wardrobe is a ten dollar T-shirt and my shorts are about $15? I need to smell like an old man, not a forty year old!
But it must be a quiet morning if this is all I have to write about today. But at least I don’t smell like an old man, or at least think I do. Maybe Old Spice sprays these days are affordable for college guys who don’t have a lot of money to spend on toiletries. My dad and grandfather wore Old Spice from the ship bottle. But these days I think they have discontinued that fragrance. But in a way I miss it.
I’m an old guy that doesn’t need to smell like a college student. But at least I smell good or think I do. Sometimes I smell like a pipe according to my wife. She hates that smell. Maybe these days only old men smoke pipes. Women, if they smoke anything, have gone to cigars. At least I don’t smell like an old stogie. Today my pipe is my Savinelli St. Nicholas pipe with some Peter Stokkebye English Luxury. My coffee this morning is from Trader Joe’s and is from Rwanda and is a single origin coffee. Thank you for your time and Peace and Love to each one of you.
Dave
