About the Best

In my humble opinion, the best psychiatrists, doctors, philosophers, and theologians are in their seventies.  Why?  Wisdom is acquired by longevity.  These occupations require wisdom.  I always felt that the best presidents of the US came from the Senate.  There they had time to acquire the wisdom of leadership.  They think in terms of long-term.  They think past quarters that only business people can see.

They have been tested by the way of governing.  Their thinking is years ahead.  They are visionaries for long-term thinking.  This is the way of older people.  They think in terms of generations to come.  Many of them are grandparents or in some cases great-grandparents that think ahead for the distant future.  They have been tested by short-term thinking.  They think of what is best for the future of humanity and the country.

Many have left a foot-print and now they are dialing their prints on humanity.  A pastor might live Sunday to Sunday, but as a theologian they see far into the distance.  They are visionaries and not the builders.  They are the idealists who imagine the kind of world they would like to leave behind.  Generally, they are the thinkers.  They can share what they’ve learned and offer their wisdom to the world to come.

The prophet says that young men have dreams and old men have visions.  The wisdom of age builds the visionaries.  I live each day knowing I am closer to seeing the Messiah come.  But I do my thing quietly without much fanfare believing quietly is best.  I’m an old hippie who loves for love’s sake and seek Peace.  Inner Peace leads to outer Peace.  I just want to be different from most and live my simple theology/philosophy.

I share with those who will listen and simply do my thing.  It’s not much but I live to please God and my Angels and not really please people.  But this my own thing and I share my path with no one.  Very few actually see my life, but my thinking is that I’ll impact a few who will then impact others.  This is my thing in old age.  God chooses His best, but in my case I often think God goofed up.

But still I live and I live my way believing my way is best.  In doing so, I just hope I am one of God’s best but often I don’t think so, but that is my cross I must bear sharing it with no one else.  I sit and meditate while smoking my pipe, hoping to just be my best.  I am best mostly alone.  This is my thing.  I let God do the rest.  My pipe this morning is my Savinelli Arcobaleno Blue pipe and my coffee is Stumptown Holler Mountain.  Thank you for your time and Peace and Love to each one of you.
