Pipes and Angels

 Both are rather controversial and I understand this.  But when you are given so much space to work with - I just do my best.  And I have purposely limited my tobacco choices because I no longer have the room for storage.  And I don’t buy many pipes any longer and receive most of my newer ones as gifts.  

As for the Angels I don’t defend them.  I state what I believe now and leave it at that.  A pipe smoker is usually quite the gentleman or gentle lady as the case may be, since more women are taking up the hobby.  In some ways I miss the chivalry of days gone by but I don’t believe that those days are totally gone.  I’ve been to a number of cigar bars and I don’t see chivalry as being dead.  

But there is something special about a person who smokes a pipe.  A pipe gives time for thought before speaking.  It used to be said that congressmen who smoked pipes had their own club with a few women invited as well.  It is said that a pipe gives everyone time to think before speaking.  

The internet is mostly about knee-jerk reactions not giving people enough time to think before posting.  But a pipe smoker is never rushed into posting before thinking.  At least this is my thinking.  It allows time for more gentle thoughts than just posting the first thought that comes to mind.  

But it’s not just the Internet but life itself.  A pipe gives time for thought.  As for my Angels I give a lot of thought to them before speaking or writing about them.  I am almost always smoking my pipe while writing my blog.  Both are controversial in my thinking and time is necessary to give thought as to what I say.  

C. S. Lewis says that a pipe closes the mouth of the foolish.  It gives time for thought.  My pipe this morning is my Viking pipe and my tobacco is Proper English by Peter Stokkebye.  My coffee this morning is Wicked Joe Bella Maria coffee.  Thank you for your time and Peace and love to each one of you.
