A Change of Pace
I smoke very few cigars and don’t really consider myself an influencer for pipe smoking. But every morning I post a reel of myself with my pipe and tobacco for the day. I opened my Instagram account and wasn’t sure what I would do with it. I simply decided I’d post vids of myself with my pipe of the day.
I was going to bring the one cigar I have left, but in my packing I forgot to grab it. But it will be waiting for me when I get back to Florida. I have a nice cigar box, but keep stuff in it related to my smoking hobby. I’ll order another five-pack for my birthday which will get me through the next year.
I haven’t bought a pipe for over a year and feel I have enough pipes to take me through the rest of my life. When I was younger building my collection I’d buy a pipe almost once a week. Then I decided I’d buy a new pipe about once a year. It’s the tobacco I focus on mostly, but buy in bulk and go through an order about once a month.
I used to cellar tobacco, but smoked what I had and now I smoke what I buy. I’ve written a few tobacco reviews, but I found out that there are tobaccos I like, but Perique for example, doesn’t like me. I’m not a big fan of Burleys. I found a blend I really liked but it has been discontinued. I have my one favorite now and will order it with every order. I try to buy but a few blends at a time. I’ll take risks with blends I’ve never had and try to get a little extra of an aromatic,
I’m not a big fan of aros, but smoke them when I am around my wife. But I’ve learned through the years having smoked hundreds of blends if not a thousand. I’m tired of thinking about what’s in my pipe. I just want to light what I enjoy, sit back, relax, and not think about what’s in my pipe. I like familiarity in my old age.
I’m smoking my Peterson Irish Harp straight pipe this morning with some Stratfordshire by Cornell and Diehl. I like it well enough, but like Proper English by Peter Stokkebye better. I found a straight Virginia I really liked. It’s Winchester by Cornell and Diehl. My next order will be both Winchester and Proper English in bulk with a few ounces of an aro I’ve never tried. Hope my wife likes it. My coffee this morning is Mt. Comfort. Thank you for your time and Peace and Love to each one of you.
Dave
