A Simple Hack
A person who is a Disney cast character here in Florida came up with a simple hack. Say you go to bed at night and you wake up and you notice the power was out and have no idea for how long. Or you leave your house and return and the time on your microwave is flashing. How do you know your stuff in the refrigerator didn't thaw? Is it all still good?
Here is the simple hack. You filll a plastic cup with water. Don't use glass as freezing will make the glass shatter. Then you put that cup in the freezer. After it is frozen, place a quarter on top. Then if the electricity has gone out and the quarter is more than two inches deep, you know the electricity was out for too long and your stuff needs to be thrown out.
It's such a simple hack. A lot of people during hurricane season leave their homes when a storm is approaching and can be gone for days at a time. Or you might go away for a few days. Did the electricity go off for any reason? Check to see where your quarter is in the cup of water. Some hacks are so simple that one wonders why everyone didn't think of it. Some are pure genius and should be patented.
Speaking of refrigeration, I thought about a number of things to fill my space this morning and decided to add that I love pineapple as my favorite fruit. I also love mangos, but I've found mangos to be a lot of trouble. And my wife is allergic to the skin of mangos as they are akin to poison ivy. Sometimes we'll buy mangos already sliced but they can be rather expensive and often aren't as soft as I like.
We can get pineapples for less than two dollars here. But if we're out shopping a lot depends on whether I feel like cutting up a pineapple or buy it already cut up. We have a pineapple slicer, and if we buy a whole pineapple we usually set it on the counter for a few days before cutting into it. But I do love fresh sliced pineapple. We have a tool we use that cotes and slices pineapple. So what we buy depends a lot on price and whether I feel like coring a pineapple.
But in my thinking there is nothing like fresh sliced pineapple. We put it in a container and it will keep for several days in the refrigerator until consumed. But fresh pineapple down here is relatively inexpensive. I just thought I would throw that in as a final thought.
Is here is a tobacco that has pineapple flavoring? Most tobacconists use citrus as a flavoring that can include coconut and pineapple, but as a stand alone flavoring, I don't think I have seen it. Maybe Tropical Export has some pineapple, but again it's just what they call Tropical flavorings. I'm smoking my Nording Angel pipe this morning with a bowl of Wyme from Caribbean Blue. My wife now says it doesn't smell too bad. Her opinions matter because she comments on the room note of the tobacco I smoke. I thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.
