Another One

I have in my next order one pound of a tobacco I have not tried before.  It’s an English called Cordial by Cornell and Diehl.  One pound might be a bit much for a tobacco I have not had, but I am certain I will like it.  If’s a tobacco blend that has Virginias. Orientals, black Cavendish, and Latakia, I am certain I will like it.  I read the description and a few reviews.  It gets a 4.4 rating from Smoking Pipes.

It’s not much of a risk to order a pound because I am certain I will like it quite well.  I once ordered a fourteen ounce tin of Carter Hall without having smoked it before.  I take risks on tobacco because for me it’s not just a couple of ounces.

I want to live with a new blend for a while before I evaluate it.  I’ll get a couple of ounces in a tin from time to time.  But I find a few bowls of a tobacco really isn’t enough to evaluate.  I need to live with it for a while.  But a good English isn’t much of a risk.  I’m not as willing to take that risk on an Aromatic.  I’ve smoked over a pound of Bayou Night, and I find it has a bit more Perique than I’d like.

But it has become a favorite.  But still I liked Old Professor the best.  But it has been discontinued.  I need to find something else.  I really liked Quiet Nights, but it does not come in bulk.  I need to find something less expensive.  I know I will like Cordial by Cornell and Diehl.  I order more from Cornell and Diehl than I do any other tobacco blenders.

Finding a substitute for Ild Professor hasn’t been easy.  I also like Peterson’s 965 blend.  Someone mentioned that blend in a review of Cordial.  That is one reason why I have a pound in my order.  I might cut it down to eight ounces and order eight ounces of something else.  I’ll keep studying before placing my order, but this is how it stands for now.

I am smoking some Bayou Night in my “haunted” Gettysburg pipe this morning while drinking a special blend of coffee from Sprouts.  Thank you for your time and Peace to each one of you.

Dave
