How Things Changed
I wasn’t sure I’d write today. I have been writing less while here in Upstate NY. But something was on my mind this morning. I got to thinking that Jesus changes most of the Old Testament. The New Testament changes Law to Grace. I might not be as graceful as I say God is, but I am continuously working on it. It is hard even for me to accept a theology that says that Jesus died for EVERY sin Except for the sin of intentionally taking Hyman Life.
If I say God is this forgiving then I should be too. But I am human with human biases. However, I have to consciously work on it knowing I am not God. Jesus knew the Law but He understood Grace. I simply say I am NOT Jesus nor am I perfect. But it is a goal of mine to understand the Grace of God in ALL things.
As we understand God’s grace we grow in our understanding. I just wish the world understood the Grace of God as I do. I just might be as much of a sinner as the Apostle Paul and understand Grace as he did. Growing in God’s Grace means we forget our understanding of Law.
This won’t be long today. But I got to thinking that God’s Grace Supersedes the Old Testament Law. It doesn’t matter about beliefs as long as beliefs lead to Peace and Love and not hatred. We are under Grace and NOT Law. Jesus changed this.
Some might say my smoking a pipe is sinful. I smoke a pipe by Grace not from disobedience to any law. By Grace my pipe is a tool for meditation. Today my pipe is my Ben Wade and my tobacco is Proper English by Peter Stikkebye. Thank you for your time and Peace and Love to each one of you. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers!
